Do I need to start a company in India to launch a simple side project(Web App) ?
I have simple web application that I built in my free time . Do i need to start a LLC or launch it as a sole proprietor. How do I protect myself if I launch it as a sole proprietor??

Just start as a sole proprietor. Once you achieve some target then register a pvt.ltd or llp
Then how do i protect myself from getting sued...since this is software. there is bound to be some bugs.
Only worry about that if you making revenue...

Don't know if I will immediately get any customer or in days/weeks. I read here on some post that one can use Stripe as an individual to recieve payments. So do we still need to register as a company ?
Stripe is not yet available in India(for accepting patments).

Stripe beta (for India) is in beta from last 3 quarters. Paddle.com is one alternative you can try.
I don't think you'll need or want until you start generating some revenue.
If it is your side project, you do not need to start a company to launch it.
My side project requires users install a desktop client. what do I do to ensure minimum liability??
