Do people use price comparison app?

I stay in South East Asia and the number of ecommerce stores are springing up like mushrooms. With the increase in disposable income, people here have just begun to get a taste of ecommerce and I'm pretty sure they'd want to save some money buying online.

I'm trying to gather some suggestion to validate my assumption - what would be the best way to do so? Also, how do price comparison app usually make money?

p.s. the current price comparison apps we have here either have bad UI or just insufficient coverage, I'm working on a MVP/prototype right now.
