Do you use all the information Google Analytics provide?

Hi guys, as the title says, do you use it all?

Recently i've been doing some small projects that all i needed was:

  • clicks
  • visits
  • users (country, system specs)

I think Google Analytics is too powerful for what i need and the screen has a lot of information that i don't use.

Does a similar solution exists? Paid or free..

Agreed with what @shawn_maplegum wrote. There's no need to use a different platform because you have too much data. Just make a custom dashboard and ignore the rest. The day will come you'll need this data or that and you'll be glad you already have it.

you could also try getclicky it is like $50/year, but much simpler than GA. My referral link if you want to try it: http://clicky.com/213316

This is what I use too.

In GA the most valuable data for me has been:

    • Acquisition (Source/ Medium, Campaigns, Referrals, Social)
    • Site Content / Landing Pages
    • Conversions (Goals & Multi-Channel Funnels)

These help me focus on how customers are finding me and how I'm guiding them through a conversion.

On a day to day basis clicks, time on site, etc. hasn't been as important to me. At a certain point getting DAU & MAU gives me a good snapshot if there's some change I should be aware of.

From a product perspective I use MixPanel to track events and I have a dashboard to help me view the change in events I care about.

You can also create a custom dashboard in analytics with just that info.

Awesome! The UI of Analytics has all those information i don't really use so this will come handy. Thanks!

One day you will discover some use to all this data. You can track lots of information about user acquisition and user behaviour to understand your users.
