I've been fascinated by the data job openings send out. Especially how it's beneficial to generate sales opportunities. Some of it is obvious, while others not.
"Companies typically hire new executives (VP or C-Suite level) to shake things up. These new hires have authority to make decisions and are looking to make an impact with their new organization and demonstrate their value. As such, they may be open to hearing some new ideas from you." Dan Fisher,menemshagroup.com
While hiring signals from most departments are useful, my idea is to create a database for founders/salespeople selling saas or service in the marketing niche. This is simply because I've been a marketer in my previous jobs and understand the roles better.
Here's a sample of 8 such prospects: https://airtable.com/shrM8AevE9ll4Djwn
I haven't deep dived into the analysis part, but this is the gist. (This also isn't a marketing-specific sample)
Would love to hear your take on this.
Ahoy Akhil - I imagine that one challenge is that as your list grows, you'll want to find ways to avoid "saturating" the leads. So if you have a list of 10,000 people, and you tell them, "Hey, there's one new lead available," you don't want that person to be dogpiled with 10,000 emails because then nobody will get the sale because that person will just give up.
I wrote out a quick "strawman" spreadsheet to just try to get a sense of how the math works: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KPrkBCCHKbPwgMd_VrKJychTgXocyAj1UUa3KTcbVoQ/edit#gid=0 - it's public writable, so you can make whatever changes you want. But it's public writable, so if you want to keep it, you should make a copy of it ;)
If it's basically free to generate new leads, then you probably don't need to worry too much about this. But since you're providing analysis, it'd be hard to provide thousands of analyses. You could do a few things in reaction to that, like charge for the analysis but provide the list for free. You could also provide time-based rewards for the tiers - the highest tier gets "early access" to the leads or something.
Thanks for the super thoughtful response Jacob! 'charge for the analysis but provide the list for free' and similar tiers is something to be seriously looked at. As you said, it'll be hard to do thousands of this manually.
and the sheet looks very handy too. made a copy!
@akhilmk kinda like https://www.usergems.com/ ?
This is interesting. looks similar to jobtitle.io.
If you're tracking job changes, you're assuming he might need help with X. The assumption is a lot of these insights can be found in the job posting related to the title.
But a downside is to do outreach, you need the new person to come in.
Let's see if there's a workaround for that.
@watus @louisswiss: would be great to have your inputs.
