Helping companies to deal with unused licenses!

Hi,

software & IT expenses are usually the second biggest cost drivers for organizations. Yet most companies (to my knowledge) do a pretty bad job of managing their licenses (spreadsheets). On most computers, you'll find licenses that aren't used. Also, procurement is usually centralized, so no one really measures weather people like using the products they receive.

What I'm thinking about:

Building a tool that inverts the responsibility for license management. Rather than having everything managed and controlled by a centralized procurement department, individual users can manage their own licenses - giving teams more flexibility to choose their own tools. The tool will ask the user if the software is still used before renewing the subscription. Also, the software will ask the user for feedback on the software, so that the performance of the contracts can be evaluated.

The goal is to reduce IT spend for mid to large size organizations.
