One of my favorite rituals is reviewing the year and planning for the coming one. Here are my 2020 resolutions with notes on how I did:
Goals:
✅ $🁢🁢🁢🁢🁢🁢 in income
I was lucky that Covid had only a small impact on my income. That said, I did lose income by quitting the job I was working at the beginning of the year. New sources made up for the loss.
✅ Income from 4 sources
I intended my fourth source to be a goal I failed to achieve, but the year provided other opportunities to earn money. Bitcoin was the sleeper hit.
🚫 Project earning $1k/mo (actual: $0)
My full-time effort, Marina, is pre-revenue. Side projects also have not made any money.
✅ Find a partner for my next project
One of my most talented friends sent me a text to see if I was available to work on a product with him. The text came as I was mulling over whether to quit my current gig. Couldn't have been better timing! 🙌
🚫 Meet 60 new people (actual: 41)
Covid made this goal a challenge. Work gave me a handful of opportunities to meet people. During the lockdown, I met with a number of people on Lunch Club. I look forward to more coffee meetings in 2021.
🚫 Read 52 books (actual: 44)
I got through a lot of books but podcasts and social media kept me from reading a book a week.
🚫 Write something substantial
I wrote a journal to myself but did very little writing beyond that. Hope to do more in 2021.
✅ Follow daily ritual
My daily ritual fluctuated throughout the year but I did a good job of being intentional about structuring my day. The morning coffee was core to the daily ritual.
✅ Strength training 3 days / week
I bought this guy's program: https://www.instagram.com/gregogallagher. It's vain as hell but also simple to follow and delivers positive results. I can see my abs for the first time in 15 years.
Love to hear how your year went!
