How Did You Find Your First Ten Users?

How did you find your first 10 real users without paid ads?

I’d love to hear the scrappy methods that worked for you.

Did you reach out one by one?
Post in communities?
Find a partner who already had the right audience?

What became your first repeatable source of users?
And what would you avoid now?

I’m collecting honest early-stage lessons and comparing notes with other founders.

Interesting take. Would you still recommend this approach to someone starting today?

Great breakdown. What feedback have you had from early users?

Makes sense. Are you planning to charge for it, or keep it free for now?

Appreciate the honesty here, most people only share the wins.

Curious how long it took before you saw the first real results?

For us (an audio/video → text tool) the first ten came almost entirely from long-tail SEO, not a launch. I built a bunch of narrow "transcribe X" / "convert Y to text" pages aimed at queries people already search with clear intent, and let Google send a trickle. The other lever was writing one honest engineering write-up about how the pipeline actually works and posting it where devs hang out — that pulled in exactly the kind of early users who give real feedback. Cold outreach did nothing for me; intent-driven search did all the work.
