We have all experienced an increase in the number of Zoom/Teams meetings since the pandemic. It can get difficult to remain focused on the on the screen as the day progresses.
At Folly I always record Zoom calls and use Listener to bookmark any important discussion points and add a quick note. These turn into short video clips and the transcript that I can revisit later. This frees me up from the worry to take long notes and remain focussed on the call.
What about you?
Btw we just launched Listener on PH today

This is a topic of particular interest to me because I've split my professional career between being a maker and being a manager.
Bottom line: I consider meetings to be a necessary evil so I keep them few and far between for my team. That usually means one or two per week — and we try to tie up any communicational loose ends during the meeting so that it's extremely clear that everyone has support and knows what they're responsible for.
Before I ran my own company I lucked out by working for teams that had a similar culture. Even so, there were more than just one or two meetings per week.
So I learned to become very good at front-loading my dev work (and other tactical responsibilities) and getting as much as possible done before the meeting. Because after meetings, I tended to be very scatterbrained and struggled to get more stuff done.
Thanks, actually this is a very helpful tip - getting as much tactical stiff out of. the way as possible before the meeting. I too tend to get little unfocused after a long meeting.
