Hey everyone, I've been building Brayer, a browser-based tool for making product mockups and launch visuals.
It started because I needed mockups for my other SaaS projects and couldn't find a tool that did what I wanted. So I built one, and now I'm starting to share it with other founders.
You drop in a screenshot, pick a device or browser scene, adjust the background and layout, and export it for your landing page, launch post or product update.
You can use all the current frames and editing tools for free, with no account and no watermark on PNG/JPEG exports. Editing happens locally in your browser.
There's also a Pro plan at €9/month or €79/year for batch exports, transparent backgrounds and optional cloud sync.
Try it on desktop: https://usebrayer.com
What are you currently using to make visuals for your launches? I'd love to hear what feels missing from your setup, or what gets in the way when you try Brayer.
Curious how long it took before you saw the first real results?
Thanks for writing this up. Bookmarking it for later.
Nice progress. What is the next thing you are focusing on?
Probably better Pro features, more templates, 3D models, and more customization overall :)
Really relatable. How much time do you put into this each week?
Around 10 hours a week at the moment! Mostly building until recently, but now I'm putting some of that time into sharing it and talking to people who try it.
With editing free and batch exports behind Pro, are users returning to create launch visuals repeatedly, or is the main challenge getting them to see a reason to upgrade?
Too early for me to say honestly — I've only just started sharing it, so I don't have enough usage data yet. The idea is that Pro becomes useful when someone needs a whole set of visuals or regularly updates them. First I need to see whether people come back to make a second one.
That makes sense. What would count as a real repeat-use signal for you — someone making visuals for multiple launches, or the same product getting updated visuals over time?
Both would count, but I'd look for someone coming back to update visuals for the same product first. That would suggest the saved design is useful beyond the initial experiment. Campaign sets and variants are aimed at that: keep the layout, change the screenshot, language or colourway, then export the updated set. I still need to see whether people actually use it that way.
Could be useful to compare notes as you see whether that repeat loop actually happens — happy to take it over email sometime.
Clear and practical, thanks. Did anything surprise you along the way?
How much goes into “just put a screenshot in a device frame” 😅 Once you want control over the crop, angle, text and layout, it starts becoming a proper editor. Keeping the quick path simple while adding those controls was an interesting part of it.
The “built it because existing tools missed my workflow” origin is compelling. For launch visuals, a few repeatable templates plus a locked export checklist (dimensions, readable type at thumbnail size, and a clean file-name convention) can keep the fast path consistent while leaving room for custom layouts.
Good point, especially checking the text at thumbnail size. Something can look great in the editor and become unreadable in a feed. Brayer already supports saved scenes and exact canvas dimensions, so that checklist would fit nicely into the workflow. Thanks for the suggestion!

Solid lesson. Which channel has worked best for you so far?
Too early to call a winner. I've started sharing it on Indie Hackers, Reddit and HN, but I don't yet have enough evidence to say which brings people who actually use or buy it. I'm looking at whether people make an export and come back, rather than treating comments as proof that a channel works.
Interesting. How are you measuring whether it is working?
Makes sense. Are you planning to charge for it, or keep it free for now?
Both are live. Free lets you create and export individual free scenes as PNG/JPEG with no account or watermark, up to 3,000 px. Pro adds premium collections, larger exports, transparency and batch/ZIP exports. It's €9/month or €79/year, and there's now a €12 pass for 30 days with no renewal if you only need it for one launch.
Great breakdown. What feedback have you had from early users?
