For the last few months I’ve been talking to freelancers and solo founders about something we all quietly hate: following up on overdue invoices.
Not the invoicing itself.
Not the work.
Just the awkward, emotional friction of writing that “Hey, just checking in…” email.
It’s a tiny task, but it costs real money.
People postpone it for days or weeks because it feels uncomfortable.
Some never follow up at all.
So I built chasa.io — a free micro‑tool that writes the follow‑up email for you.
That emotional friction is the real bottleneck — the work of writing a follow-up is tiny, but opening the thread after weeks of silence can feel huge. I’m building ClientPulse, a small Notion reset for freelancers who go quiet on invoices and then avoid admin. I’m looking for a few ADHD/ADHD-ish freelancers or solopreneurs for a free 20-minute observed usability session (not a sales call): bring one real or realistic overdue invoice, try entering it, follow the next action, and find a chase message while I watch quietly. If that sounds useful, reply with a time that works this week; no pitch during the session.

This is a very real problem. I ran into the same thing while building the invoicing side of SaturnShift and ended up adding automated reminders before and after an invoice is due.
What I find interesting is that the problem isn't really sending the reminder. That's technically easy. It's removing the awkwardness for the person who is owed the money. Once the system is doing the chasing, it becomes a workflow rather than a personal conversation.
I like that you've focused specifically on that pain instead of trying to build another full invoicing platform.
Have you thought about eventually integrating directly with invoicing/accounting platforms so the freelancer doesn't have to maintain the invoice state in two places?
Thanks a lot for your message.
There are already integrations with xero and quickbooks but I am open for more integrations.
