I’m a UX designer/musician building a startup for artists. I would love your thoughts!

Hey everyone,

I’m a UX designer + musician from Toronto, Canada (I play under Empire Thief) and I’ve been building something I’d love your thoughts on.

Over the past few months, I’ve been working on About My Sound, a super simple website builder for musicians. The idea is: you upload your content, pick a design, and a clean, professional website is automatically generated for you. No dragging and dropping, no overthinking sections — just your music, shows, and story, organized into tabs.

I know other musician website builders exist, but honestly, I always found them clunky, slow, or overwhelming. I wanted something lightweight, fast, and SEO-friendly. So I built the templates to perform really well (Lighthouse 100s across the board), meaning whatever artists upload will already be optimized for Google.

Right now I’m focused on websites, but I’ve got a few unique ideas lined up for the future; especially around AI and distribution tools for artists.

I’m posting here because I want to build in public and get honest feedback.

What do you think of the idea?

If you’re a musician, would you use something like this over existing tools? Why or why not?

What’s missing that would make it a no-brainer?
