I shipped a Client Project Launch Kit (+ free Scope Check skill) after $0 Gumroad sales taught me positioning beats polish

Quick context: I rebuild client project kickoffs for freelancers/indie builders who use Cursor or Claude Code. After sitting at $0 sales on a few tools, I stopped selling “features” and started selling the job: get from vague client brief → scoped, quoteable kickoff without the usual thrash.

What I shipped today under KLIPAURA:

  1. Free — Scope Check skill
    https://klipora.gumroad.com/l/scope-check
Drop it into Cursor/Claude Code. It stress-tests a client brief for missing constraints, open decisions, and scope landmines before you quote.

  2. Paid ($19) — Client Project Launch Kit
    https://klipora.gumroad.com/l/client-project-launch-kit
Offline START-HERE + skills for the kickoff loop: scope check → clarify → quote → kickoff notes. Built for cold buyers who need the workflow today, not another Notion dump.

Also live at $19 / $15 if useful:

Ask / honest ask:
If you sell client work (or ship agent skills), would you grab the free Scope Check first? What would make the $19 kit a no-brainer vs rolling your own prompts?

Happy to share what failed in earlier listings if useful.

The $0 sales makes the repositioning test meaningful. What behavior would convince you the “job” framing is working before paid conversions show up?

    1. 1

Honestly, before a paid conversion I'd treat a few things as leading signals that the job framing is landing — not as proof.

Free Scope Check downloads, plus people saying they actually ran it on a real client brief. Cold DMs or comments asking about the kickoff step specifically, not just "cool tool." Time-on-page or repeat visits if I can see them. And whether strangers describe the pain in job words ("scope thrash before quote") instead of feature words.

First paid conversion is still the hard proof. Until then I'm treating those as "framing is landing."

The real-client-brief usage is the strongest of those signals because it tests behavior rather than just language or attention. If you’re open to it, what’s the best email to reach you on?

        1. 1

Best reach for now is X: @klipaura — DM there and I’ll catch it. Happy to dig into the job-framing signals or walk through Scope Check on a real brief.

          1. 1

I’m not on X — would email be easier? What’s the best address for you?

            1. 1

Yep — email’s easier then. Best address: kliporahq@gmail.com

Happy to dig into the job-framing signals or walk through Scope Check on a real brief whenever.

              1. 1

Thanks! I’ve just sent it over.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts whenever you have a chance.

I’d try the free Scope Check first. The $19 kit becomes interesting after it flags a real gap: can the paid workflow carry that same brief through clarification and into a quoteable kickoff, or does each skill still need to be run and stitched together manually?

    1. 1

Yep — start with the free Scope Check and run it on a messy brief. That's the front door.

The $19 kit is meant to carry that same brief through clarify → a quoteable kickoff with the paired skills + START-HERE workflow, not leave you stitching from scratch. If a step still feels manual after you install it, that's a product bug and I want to hear about it.
