I shipped a solo iOS app with one hard constraint: audio never leaves the phone

Hey Indie Hackers πŸ‘‹

I've been building SnoreScribe solo for the past few months β€” an iOS

app that records your snoring overnight and gives you a morning report:

when you snored, how loud, and short clips so you can actually hear it.

The constraint that shaped every decision: audio never leaves the phone.

No account, no cloud, no third-party SDKs. Recording and analysis run

entirely on-device. It became the core of the positioning, not an

afterthought β€” because for something this personal (sounds you make

while asleep), I think on-device should be the default.

It also removed an entire category of complexity for a solo dev: no

backend to run, no data to secure, no breach to worry about.

Where I'm at:

- Public beta live on TestFlight (iOS 17+)

- Tech stack: SwiftUI + SwiftData + StoreKit 2

- Zero third-party dependencies

- Working through early feedback, full launch planned for July

If you snore (or your partner says you do), the beta is free and open:

Happy to talk through the on-device approach, solo iOS development, or

anything about the build β†’ launch journey. Feedback on the beta very

welcome too.
