I stopped burning launch mornings on directory forms after ranking 70+ platforms

I used to open ten tabs on a launch morning and treat every form like it was Product Hunt.

I used to open ten tabs on a launch morning and treat every form like it was Product Hunt. Submit, refresh, wait for a spike that never came from half of them. After I built the 2026 BLP Index for Best Launch Platforms, the split finally stuck in my head: boards want your attention on a date. Directories mostly do not care what day it is.

On that index Product Hunt is still BLP 73 for reach. A top-3 finish can mean roughly 5k to 15k visits. Outside the top 10 you often land under about 500. That is a real launch morning trade. AlternativeTo sits at BLP 69, TAAFT at 77, SaaSHub at 68. Those pages compound comparison traffic and AI-style discovery over months. They almost never give you a hunter crowd on day one.

Aura++ is BLP 62 on the same table. Daily Hunt-network board, 8:00am UTC, free plus Premium. Premium is basically a dofollow from a domain people cite around DR 70, plus a lasting launch page. I run it as SEO plus a focused hunter room, not as a PH replacement. Indie Hackers itself scores BLP 64 for me, and honestly that page is relationships and feedback more than a traffic spike.

What changed the calendar: one board gets the spotlight morning. Directory forms move to quiet days when I am not also refreshing votes. Related Hunt surfaces (IndieHunt, MakerHunt, SideHunt, EarlyHunt, Uno Directory) are different rooms, not homework for the same Tuesday. If you want the score breakdown I keep updating, [Best Launch Platforms](https://bestlaunchplatforms.com) is where the BLP numbers live. No paid placement on the ranks, including my own boards.

Curious how other builders schedule this. Do you still stack directory forms on the same morning as a hunt, or did you split the jobs too?
