[IDEA] PainPoints - Discover user pain points so that you can build more profitable products

Landing Page 1.png

Hey!

I am trying to find product ideas and identify spaces where I can move in as a competitor in app stores like Shopify and Slack, but it's difficult to assess the current landscape and find problems that are big enough to fix for users.

This got me thinking - if I was to aggregate negative reviews, feature requests and feedback (i.e. pain points!) for the most popular apps around the web and provide it in an easily-digestible way, would that be of use to people?

I'd also like to add an exclusive forum for the community to discuss tips and advice for selling on app stores and to network.

Would this interest anyone or do any of you have feedback on the idea?
Would be great if you could also take a quick look at the link (mockup of a landing page)!

Thanks!

It's an interesting idea. The big challenge with feedback like this, though, is filtering the "useful contributions" from those that aren't. As an example, I tend to avoid feedback from Free users, because their paint wasn't big enough to pay for the solution in the first place.

If you can find a way to filter out the noise, this would be pretty neat!

      Hey Andrew,

That's a good point. I think initially I would have a manual review process - all content would be approved by myself as it's gathered and any auto-categorisation would again be double-checked by me. I realise that if done really well it is extremely useful but if done 'ok' it is just as useless as the information being elsewhere.

When you say avoiding feedback from free users, do you mean your own, or the service providers users? If so how do you determine that they're on a free plan?

      Thanks for the feedback!

I do a lot of product consulting for other people, so usually the feedback I'm sifting through is coming from users of the product. In that case, it's pretty easy to tell where the feedback is coming from a free user or a paid one.

The challenge of filtering feedback from OTHER products, though, is something I'd pay for :)
