If the first five comments ask what is this your one liner already failed

I used to protect my one liner until the big launch day. Then the first five comments were all some version of what is this. That is not engagement. That is a failed pitch in public.

Now I test the one liner on a quieter daily board before any spike. Aura++ is the board I use for that. Daily refresh, real hunters, lasting page if you go Premium. People ask dumb questions early and that is the point. Every confused reply is a rewrite. Better to burn a soft morning than a Product Hunt finale.

What I watch for: do strangers repeat my category wrong, do they invent a feature I do not have, do they ask who it is for. Those three signals mean the sentence on the page is lying. I change the first line, not the logo. I also check whether anyone restates the job in their own words. If they cannot, the page is still about me, not them.

I still keep the big day. I just refuse to use it as a first draft. Soft board first. Fix the sentence. Then spend attention where the spike costs real energy.

Do your first five comments usually ask what the product is, or do they argue with a specific claim?
