Indie Women Session 1
I'm a bit behind schedule on this, I was going to do a quick post on it, but then my daughter got a chip (french fry) stuck up her nose. We still haven't gotten it out. 🙈
We had our first session last week, an online chat with Whereby. I really enjoyed it.

- Product market fit
- Mom test book
- Obviously Awesome book
- Market places
- No code options
- Whether to shift to new products in the current climate
- Obsessions people have with houses
- Content curation
- and other things I've probably forgotten about...
We also agreed to create an Indie Women group which this post is now in to help us all keep in touch.
I'll be organising another one shortly, we agreed every two weeks for now, so we're looking at June the 4th.
Also, as a heads up, I hope these won't always be organised by me, purely because there is only so much I can personally do. If anyone wants to help volunteer to lead them then that is good with me. Right now I'm trying to figure out a process that works.

Do you think we should allow more people in? I'm getting a business Whereby account, it allows 50 people in a room, 12 people on stage, the rest on audio.
What would you feel comfortable facilitating?
My instinct is that many will be happy to lurk to start with. I could even ask them that upon registration? 'Do you want to be on stage?'
I'd imagine that if we get 50+ people registering, we would need a format of some type. But if we have that many maybe we could have a vote ahead of time to select the format.
How would the 12 be determined? (First to register?)
Should we wait to see how many register? If more than 7 or 8 people are in the room, I think we'll need to agree upon a format. I've been organizing a group of women that get together once a quarter for several years now. We're all good friends, and we need a format if more than about 5 of us show up. Otherwise, it's just a noisy cocktail party ;-)
I’m happy with adding lurkers as a way to introduce them to the group. Asking them during registration is a great idea!

There's also no reason why we can't do more than one every two weeks, but lets see how the next one goes and fills up.

I opted to limit it to 12 for now. Some people will always not show.
Please note new url for attending, indie women have their own Whereby room now 🥰 So in theory, if this gets booked up early, there's no reason why we can't have more sessions of these. It's nice to keep them small.

Thanks again for setting this up! I would much prefer a smaller group because I think it's really hard to build community and trust in a large group. Just my 2 cents, happy to help in whatever way is needed! Really looking forward to having motivation to stay on track. I keep trying the IH forums, but I find this whole site hard to use for community building. I'll try to be more consistent with posting and hopefully find like-minded individuals.
