Is building this worth it I want to know if anyone have this same issue
We're building Milezi : a mileage and invoicing app for UK self-employed people and freelancers.
The idea started with a specific problem we found while researching existing mileage apps.
Apps can automatically track your mileage, but sometimes the tracking stops working silently.
No warning.
No notification.
No indication that anything went wrong.
Users may only discover it weeks later, after business trips were never recorded.
We found this complaint repeated across different competitor apps, which made us think there might be a real problem worth solving.
So instead of building another complicated all-in-one accounting platform, we're starting with a much simpler goal:
Make sure users know when their mileage tracking isn't working instead of letting it fail silently.
Who Milezi is for
UK self-employed people and freelancers, especially people with irregular, multi-stop workdays:
Mobile tradespeople
Freelancers visiting clients
Delivery and service professionals
Self-employed people travelling between different jobs
What we're building for the MVP
🚗 Trip logging : manually start and stop trips and mark them as business or personal
📄 Simple invoices : create an invoice and attach a Stripe or PayPal payment link
🧾 Receipt capture : quickly photograph and attach receipts to a trip or invoice
📊 Weekly overview :see your mileage totals and estimated tax deductions
🔔 Logging reminders :see how many days you've actually logged during the week
We're deliberately keeping the MVP focused.
No complicated accounting software.
No advanced financial reports.
No holding customer money.
And no automatic background GPS tracking yet.
We want to validate the basic workflow first before adding more complexity. If users genuinely want automatic tracking, that can become a later upgrade.
The long-term differentiator we're exploring is simple:
Mileage tracking shouldn't fail silently. If something stops working, you should know.
We've built the landing page and opened a waitlist.
Now we're looking for honest feedback from founders and, especially, UK self-employed people:
