Is there a site like Stack Overflow but for coding out loud?
I have discovered myself using Stack Overflow for a purpose that it has not been designed for.
SO is all about getting to a clear technical answer quickly. Jon Skeet blogs on how to ask the perfect question eloquently
Recently I asked a question that was more like searching for pointers to the light as I stumbled about in a dark room.
Pretty much straight after a non rewarding google for the error code I started my post. I got an immediate down vote for not enough information.
However as I started to respond to the comments, my progress through the problem increased.
Currently there are 3 votes to close the question and this is well deserved as it is not a great contribution for future coders.
However what the post did for me was to give me the feeling that I was not working alone. The comments did act like pointers in the dark.
It would be great to have a site for “coding aloud” . Perhaps even using the SO technology but with different rules that enabled more trading with the points system.
Is there anything already out there like this?
Post your problem/error and tell them you're convinced they can't solve it.
Jokes aside, talking about a problem helps but I haven't seen a platform designed for it.

I tried to use them once to solve a problem but I felt panicked paying by the minute. I think there may be a gap for something in between SO and Pluralsight mentors.
The appropriate Reddit subs mostly work this way. You can ask more general questions and answers are voted up or down.
Is there a way to offer bulk Karma for help on Reddit?
