Last week I got 5K new visitors in my site. Only 10 of them became customers X_X

Last week I released a new feature to Legendsverse called Build-A-Wave. It's very common for Marvel Legends collectors to dream of Marvel Legends series they would like to see released. I do that myself. A lot.

Build-A-Wave.com
Build-A-Wave is a super simple online image generator that let's people add some images and drop some super hero names and it will generate an image for a Marvel Legends series.

Before actually shipping this new feature, I had wanted to build it since the beginning of October, but couldn't find the most simple way to develop it. I wanted it to be a very super simple, no log in, no DB, no backend, and by no means it should not take me more than a weekend. I would overcomplicate it thinking in people being able to drag the images, styling, and a lot of things that were not necessary. And this was inspired by @SeaCatWiz's Resume builder and @threehourcoffee's Fidget page. I wanted to make a simple app that could move people to LV.

Last week I was able to think of a way to make it super simple and coded it in a weekend. Shared it on Reddit and FB and everything exploded! I got 5K+ new visitors into Legendsverse.

ML FB groups asked people to stop sharing so many of these Build-A-Waves images.

It literally flooded the Marvel Legends community

Even the Marvel Legends team at Hasbro were playing with it.

I could not believe that. I hurried to add some CTAs to the Newsletter, to the tracking app (which is the main Legendsverse product), ML checklist, and price guide. And finally after a few hours I got two new customers on day 1. And on day 2 I got about six new customers, then two more at the next day.

The novelty has already worn off. And I'm getting about 300 visitors daily. 6 times more than the normal visitors count.

I've been tweaking the UI a little and trying to make people aware of the Legendsverse app. But nothing seems to move the needle.

I got five thousand new visitors. FIVE THOUSAND. In two days. Build-A-Waves were being shared EVERYWHERE, but at the end I got only 10 more users.

I'm trying to be fully transparent here.

When I saw the numbers rising on my plausible account I was so excited. But after none of them converted, I have to be honest: I started doubting if Legendsverse is really a product people want?

I'm convinced I'm giving people a lot of value, both with free tools like Build-A-Wave, the ML checklist and price guide, and in the main paid product (Marvel Legends tracking app). But people don't seem to think the same 😂

It has made $3K in a year. I think that's awesome. But not sure if it means the product is really validated and I probably need to market it more, or maybe the market is too small. I'm constantly struggling and stumbling into what steps to take.

Bootstrapping a business is so hard. 💀

How many customers have you spoken to? Did you ask them why they did or didn't convert to paid? What value are they looking for from the premium product?

How did you come up with your price? Did you run a Van Westendorp Price Sensitivity Meter survey? Why did you choose a once off $19.99 instead of, for example, $3 per month?

What do your analytics tell you about the traffic and what your customers want? Perhaps by performing user flow analysis, and especially checking this against conversion goals, you can glean some insights.

I have no clue who your product is for, but I would try to figure it out by going on some niche subreddit for whatever it is you're tryina build

    Hi,
thanks for mentioning me and my product!
I think the problem with your project is it's very, very niche one. So, 10 new customers is not a bad results. But I see you probably don't reach your target audience. So, I would focus on it only instead of broadcasting the audience that may be interested to visit but not interested to buy.
    Good luck!
