Hey IH — sharing where this has landed after a lot of building and testing.
The problem: small trading and distribution businesses (hardware, building materials, that world) run their entire operation across Excel sheets and WhatsApp threads that don't talk to each other. Stock counts nobody fully trusts. Orders retyped by hand into invoices. "Who owes us money" answered from memory instead of data. A full day lost every month just pulling numbers together for the accountant.
Background: 20+ years as an Oracle EBS/PL-SQL consultant, delivering financial systems programmes for banks and investment firms. This is the first thing I've built entirely on my own, for a completely different kind of business than the enterprise clients I'm used to.
What's actually live and tested, not just built:
Tally, Xero, and QuickBooks sync — all three genuinely tested end-to-end against real accounts, not "coming soon" badges
WhatsApp built into the workflow, since that's where these businesses already talk to customers
Multi-currency, region-aware GST/VAT — built for India first, now live for UK trading businesses too
An AI Assistant that actually answers from the business's real data, not a bolted-on generic chatbot
Stack: Next.js, Firebase (Firestore + Auth), deployed on Vercel.
Where it's at: live at tradobiz.com, 7-day free trial, no card required. Started selling through personal contacts in India, actively expanding into UK trading businesses now.
What I'd genuinely value feedback on:
Pricing — three tiers (Invoicing Lite / Base / All Modules), billed quarterly/half-yearly/yearly rather than monthly. Curious if that cadence makes sense for this market or if I'm overcomplicating it.
Whether "not on Excel and WhatsApp" lands as a hook, or if there's a sharper way to say it.
Happy to answer anything about the build, the accounting-integration testing process (there's a lot to say there), or the actual go-to-market for a solo-founder B2B product in this space. https://tradobiz.com/
