Scrumpy — A Beautiful Project Management Tool for Agile Teams
Hi IH! 👋 Me and my team mate started to work on an agile project management tool more than a year ago. It started as a fun project, but as we're using the tool internally for 6 months now, we want to launch it publicly in the next weeks.
So we made this landing page and put a lot of love in. I hope you like cats. :) But I'm not happy with the pricing page:
https://scrumpy.io/pricing
What are your thoughts? Any good reads on improving the pricing page?
Hi Hans,
Loving the UI of the LP - really beautiful.
Here are a few things I don't love as much...
In general, worry less about me understanding what you do, and spend much more time/screen real-estate making sure I absolutely understand why your product is of value to me. I mean really spell it out. Prominently. Should be the first thing I see. Otherwise, why should I care about your product enough to find out more?
I think your pricing is really low on the enterprise side especially. In my experience, enterprise plans should start at 5x your current price. Remember, enterprise are happy to pay more (they know how much hassle/how expensive it is to go through their procurement hoops).
Your fake testimonials might be funny. Hopefully potential customers will react well to them. In my case however, it just highlighted that you don't have any customers yet. Perhaps something to keep an eye on going forward.
Have a native English speaker go over the wording - it's generally pretty good but there are a few small mistakes which a native speaker wouldn't make.
Good luck!
This is really valuable feedback! Had the impression people like the fake testimonials. As we're not launched yet, it's no problem, but you're right: We should update them as soon as we can.
Added all those points to my list! 😘
I came to see if I could add any value to this post, but I think everyone really hit the nail on the head! It all looks really nice! Loooove the UI simple yet interestingly different :)
Thaaanks! 🙌
✌️
Visually amazing, well done! The structure is perfect, it's just the content itself that's not supporting your product as well as it could.
Similar to Louis' feedback, your landing page needs to focus on benefits, not features. Think of it as scaffolding:
Current:
I echo Louis' sentiments on the testimonials. They're at best mildly amusing, at worst they tell me no one's used or seen the product. If you use it internally, try to get some reactions from the team, or from others you've shown the product to.
You're not far away from a very compelling landing page; just focus on benefits (the why) not features (the what).
as we aren't native speakers, the feedback to the content is so important for us! it's a totally different thing to describe these things in a foreign language. maybe we should work on the content first (with focus on the why) and translate it later. 🙈
Related to the pricing page (also very visually stunning!), I'd recommend a few small tweaks:
Also, in terms of pricing structure, you could test per user pricing vs. tiers of users. I would guess that per user pricing simplifies things a bunch (less tiers?) and would drive more revenue.
Very actionable points, thanks!
I can imagine it's quite difficult to match tone across languages and cultures, that may help a lot!
Was the design/art done in house? It's very impressive.
Thanks! We asked a friend (http://instagram.com/howlongisnever) to draw the cat. Everything else was is our work.
Hey there, sweet landing page. The design rocks. Here are my comments. Keep in mind I’m kind of playing “devil’s advocate” here, but hopefully you find some of the critique useful. :)
Headline
Planning, Made Simple.
Okay… and? 😃 There’s a lot of planning software around (I’ve worked in that space), and many products already claim they’re simple. Are you simpler? The simplest? How could you prove it to me in one sentence? Is there a metric for the simplicity of your product that you could highlight?
"Scrumpy is designed for agile teams who manage multiple projects. We focus on minimalism and fun.”
Okay. What’s the benefit for me, though? Do I complete my projects faster? Is fun really what people look for when they’re picking project management/planning software?
Also, lots of agile teams manage multiple projects. Are you particularly suited for a subset of them? Software developers for example?
You'll Love Our Features
We couldn't stop writing down features when we started. By now, a lot of it have become reality already. And if you're like us, you'll love it.
Okay. First, tell me why I’ll love your features instead of telling me I will. How would you know? Also, if you’ve built so many features, how come you only list 3 very generic ones?
People who shop for planning software often have very specific needs in mind. Do you do earned value management? Sprint velocity? Etc. etc. If not, why not? Basecamp became a success for rejecting a lot of the traditional project management stuff. Maybe you’re trying to do the same thing about planning, but then you need to take a stance and be bolder about it.
See all features CTA
Definitely good to have that — but the features need to be more detailed, with more screenshots/highlights from the good bits of your product. It seems really well designed so it would be a shame not to showcase it.
Hi Hans!
Love your mascot and the animation! May I ask who made it? PM me please if you can. (We're now implementing our own mascot and are in search of a designer to draw it).
I also have a suggestion for your pricing page.
Right now reading 4 plans at once is a bit overwhelming. You could split it in groups like "Small Team" vs "Big Team" and switch the plans with a toggle - just like "monthly/annual" switchers. You could reduce it for two plans shown at once in such case.
Also, speaking of a message, I would concentrate on team's needs instead of size. Paying more just because your team is bigger feels unfair. But, if you said something like:
"Okay, here is the deal: You get all the features regardless of plan you choose. We understand you may need more or less of our service depending of the size of your team, so we have affordable plans for everyone". If you tweak the wording but maintain this message, it can be a valid argument for having 4 plans.
thanks for your feedback! stella raab did the illustration for us (https://www.instagram.com/howlongisnever/), my team mate @philippkuehn did the animation part. 🌟
Hey Hans, great landing page already ;)
Here are some points you could consider, feedback incoming!
LP:
Pricing page:
What do you think is wrong with the pricing page?
Also, the most important thing is to get feedback from potential customers and the current customer so you can study the differences and structure the website to sell the service much better.
I make that stupid obvious on my website, for example, to showcase clients how I answer common objection I might get: http://cortes.design
Cheers ;)
Thanks! Your feedback is really to the point.
I think the entire LP is beautiful. It gets straight to the point and I understood your offering in seconds. Good job.
Playing devil's advocate a bit here: why would I use your service(s) over GitLab's built in project management system which is also tightly coupled with my code as well as my CI/CD pipeline, which is also inside of GitLab? What can do you do that's better?
Good point! We need comparison with other services.
The website looks incredible!! Would you mind sharing a bit more of the process your design process and what it is built with?
We could write a short article, if you're interested
Love the design. Did you do it yourself?
My team mate @philippkuehn did the design!

Looks nice.
More screenshots.
Thanks! :) A few more screenshots are on Dribbble: https://dribbble.com/philippkuehn
It is gorgeous, but lacking some informations about your features IMO - and maybe too many graphics.
If you can also give us a few feedback on our landing, that would be amazing - see https://www.indiehackers.com/forum/i-just-released-my-new-saas-70ed554476
The design is top notch and the testimonials are funny.
But for a product page aren't the fake testimonials kinda useless?
These (fake) testimonials are kinda useless, although they're somewhat funny. Real ones would be very valuable, however, considering the page lacks social proof of any kind.
Thanks! We'll update the testimonials section before launch.
Hi Hans,
Your landing page looks really nice.
Did you do the illustrations on the page yourself or outsourced it ?
A good friend of us did the illustrations:
https://www.instagram.com/howlongisnever/
First of all, the page looks fantastic. You deliver on your claim that it's a "beautiful project management tool".
While the cat is cool, it overshadows the CTA because it's brighter and moving. My eyes immediately go away from the CTA and towards the cat.
The page is Scrumpy centric, instead of customer centric. There's a lot of references to "we" and "us" e.g. "we focus on minimalism and fun", "we couldn't stop writing down features", "we love collaboration" etc. As a customer, I care about how your product will help me.
The actual information about the product is a big list of features, none of which seem unique to your product. Help me understand what's different about Scrumpy, and why I should choose it over the many other agile tools, how it will solve my problems.
The pricing looks OK to me. Maybe the FAQ is too long, and you could remove some of the copy, but overall it seems fine.
Best of luck with the project!
thanks! 🙌 seems like this is the main point in most comments: we should focus on the why.
