Lost my job, made my product, failed to promote it

Well, the first pancake is always a flop, but honestly, I didn't expect my first launch to be THIS bad. I mean, 20 likes on PH, 500 landing page views total after thoroughly spamming everywhere I could reach, and 10 new users who never came back to the app. 🤡

I didn't have high hopes for this anyway, but oh boy, does it feel bad.
It really does.

Especially when you've lost your job and have only had 3 interviews in the past 3 months. Yikes.

But, unlike my hopes, I'm keeping my head up high no matter what. I've had a great time building my app, I'm happy with the result, and I'll be fine even if I'm the only one using it.

What bums me out the most is how hard it is to promote something as a total marketing dummy with zero follower base, especially when your product doesn't have "AI" in the title, even if you're genuinely trying to build something useful.

It's tough because the number of founders who "made an AI startup in 3 days with the help of another AI" is overwhelming, and most users are zero-attention-span, shiny-object-syndrome dudes who'll swallow all that BS.

Not that I'm really surprised by all this - I'm a grown-ass man and have seen it all before. I just don't see how to navigate through this without stooping to building another AI startup in 3 days that will serve no one but will be shiny AF.
