I'm experimenting for the first time with a physical product. I've build a stupid amount of software products over the years and not once have I tried something physical.
so here's the idea. Men don't have a brand to look to for products at home. So that's what I'm building
it's called Dudes At Home.
I wrote a bit more on medium about it but I'd love for the IH folk to give some feedback since I'm well outside my wheelhouse on this one.
I think you've got something there! For better or worse, we live in a time when gender sells more then ever. I feel like there was a big push from one side, and now there's a pushback coming, so you might just be able to ride that wave. Good luck!

I dont really get the concept. You say that the problem you're solving is "Men don't have a brand to look to for products at home". But then on the medium post you add a picture of a techy/space type design on a pillow. Women might be interested in that too. And the kind of women that might be interested, would probably be very put off by the fact that you're targeting men only. Im not saying theres anything wrong with what you're doing, but personally i would market your business as geek furniture / techy furniture so that you're not closing the door on any potential customers. (by the way i have been a web developer for 5 years, so i am absolutely the nerdy market you want to be aiming for)
Your point is well taken. I'm okay alienating part of the audience for now. I'd rather go too narrow than too wide. Though I may be wrong about that... only marketing data will tell!
Man pillows, that's pretty awesome. I feel like you probably cut out a large audience once they get married tho!
