I run fancyoptions.com which is a daily newsletter that has a list of interesting stock options for subscribers to invest in. I am planning on adding a podcast and educational component to attract more users.
Posting my newsletter on the subreddit r/sidehustle and asking for feedback is where the majority of subscribers came from. This could be a good option if you are just starting out and would like people to subscribe and give you valuable feedback.

Awesome. Were you active in that community before? Seems like a very positive response for a post which is self promotion (coz reddit people think anything with a link is a promo).
I wasn't an active in the community, so I was definitely concerned about that and posting a link as you mentored. Nonetheless, I just went for it and found people are happy to give feedback. Also, people are looking for ideas, so the more new posting the better.

Definitely, think about paid if that's your goal. Do you have a schedule of when you will post your articles? Are you engaging with your readers? Are you promoting your newsletter on various forms of social media?
Not everyone will signup for the paid tier; however, offering previews of your paid post, making the community exclusive, having a consistent schedule, and offering a 7 day trial all help to get people to convert over. Happy to talk about other methods I am trying/using.

Honestly, no schedule really. Just when I can squeeze in time or something comes to mind to write about. Have a few drafts just chillin that I may try building on.
Paid is def the goal. My plan was to build up for a while, prob 1,000, then give a step by step method on how to build accounts to 10,000-20,000 followers in a month for $5-$10.
I don't think people know they can reply on substack yet, so I was going to mention that in the next one, but on twitter I posted it and responded to all of the feedback

Congratulations, mate. Such progress in such short time is commendable. You should add the educational component so that beginners like me can join, haha.
