Overall indie hacker numbers and trends?

I'm working on a blog post about indie hacking, and I'm wondering if there are any stats that give estimates for the total number of indie hackers, and what the trends are? i.e. is the total number of indie hackers growing 10%/year? 100%?

Googling around, I have found stats about trends within indie hacking - e.g. the article about how 2020 was a big year for newsletters. Or I can find stats about SaaS trends - but those are within the independent Saas industry.

But I'm curious about the overall numbers and growth trends of indie hacking. Maybe I'm just googling for the wrong terms here. Or maybe it's too hard to pin down?
