So I'm conscious that the average reader will tune out of an article after the first paragraph so, pitch first!

pici.ly is a mobile app for re-discovering and enjoy your favorite pictures, in this first version, you can organize your pictures onto a large vr photo wall and use google cardboard to see them as if they have been projected onto a 100ft canvas. It's free to download, and no sign up, currently only available on Android, would be great to get some early feedback as I start to build out features. Many thanks!!

Since this is my first post about my app, would like to give you a bit of background on who I am and why I decided to build it.

I've actually been a midnight engineer since I was probably 10 years old, I remember my first invention I called NEDIT, I can't remember what it stood for other than the first N was for Nill, and it was called NEDIT.. The original idea came after I leant that a dynamo could turn rotary motion into electricity, and a drill turned electricity into rotary motion. Aha! I thought, Infinite energy!! I'm going to be rich!! and so I set about designing researching the idea as best I could at 10 years old.. I know I was 10 because the next year I turned 11 and went to Secondary School (I live in the UK), and I always remember the science lesson I had when the teacher introduced us to concept of “Energy Conservation”, that energy could not be created or destroyed, things about friction and resistance.. WHAT!!? That was the end of NEDIT I thought, but I was already onto idea number 2..

100s ideas, and 25 years later, I'm 35, a software developer, an ‘OK’ day job, married … I can’t complain, but the desire to conspire and tweak at new ideas into the night has not gone away.

My latest idea pici, came after I first put on a VR headset last year, and was blown away by the immersive experience of being placed visually into a new environment. I played around with all of the free games and apps I could in the Oculus game store and it really reminded me of the late 90s sat in front of yahoo.com and being blown away that anything I typed into the search would bring back information from around the world.

The goal of my app at it's core to make something of value, and if I can get paid, great! I think there's an un tapped market of people who want both fun and constructive technology. I'm learning so much here - particularly about how successful apps are made, so I'm going to spend 2020 trying to find a market for my app, build out new features and post about my progress and learnings here in case someone finds it useful :)
