Quiet first week isn’t death if the board lets you relaunch with your votes intact

Soft first week used to feel like the end. Rank wasn’t terrible, wasn’t great, comments dried up, and I’d close the tab like the product failed. It hadn’t. The board just finished its week.

Eligibility is simple: you finished a full week, you weren’t top 3, and you’ve never relaunched that project. Then Dashboard → Relaunch → $19 Premium. Existing upvotes stay. You pick a new week. Free still has its 15 slots/week; Premium/relaunch doesn’t eat that free cap. And /project/[slug] stays indexed after the week ends, which matters more than people admit when they’re doom-scrolling rank.

That changes how I read a soft showing. Maybe the one-liner was unclear. Maybe the demo was flaky on Monday. Fix those, then come back with the votes you already earned instead of starting from zero like the first week never happened. I don’t need a different room for that lesson — same board, better product, votes preserved.

I don’t relaunch every soft week. Only when something real changed. But knowing the option exists stops me from treating every Monday drop like a one-shot funeral. Free is fine for a first look. Premium relaunch is for when the product improved and the old votes still mean something.
