Should we actually trust AI detectors?
A while ago I got disqualified from an exam because an AI detector my exam centered was using flagged my essay as AI-generated, even if I wrote it myself entirely.
Ever since then I'm still wondering how much trust we should put in these tools.
If something you wrote normally gets flagged as AI, what are you supposed to do? Start writing worse so you sound more human?
