Some Developers with experience building an educational website, learning website, or similar?

Hi everybody,

I'm building an educational website to host tools and resources for
college students focus on helping them to find the academic material that
fit their needs and avoid that they spend too much looking for the
materials that they need. We host tools and resources aligned to help
the students to develop skills and knowledge that they can apply in
their college and professional life.

I would like to add some tech features related to a reward system and easy searches, is there here some programmers or developers who can give me a piece of advice about how to implement those ideas, or if somebody has experience building e-learning website or similar, I would appreciate your help and opinion.
