- Discuss your work if you're building a business
- Show your work a little bit (that's why we use loom)
- Share any small wins.
- Share any lessons learned.
On Friday
- Wrap up the week
- Look ahead to next week.
- Aggregate the week's data, summarize it.
- If last week was the end of the month, prepare a month's end summary
Every week repeat.
Every Day: Download your loom video, and upload to YouTube.
Make sure to include in the description as many keywords about your business as you can. The trick is that you need to be authentic and almost transcribe the best parts of the video, into the description. That way YouTube knows what keywords to file your video under.
Now that's an open startup!

Man, I've been wanting to start a YouTube channel for so long now. I always get ideas of "wow, this would be a cool and useful video", but there's always a "but I should better keep on working on the product".
My biggest concern is that I do want to make something of quality, I am not comfortable posting a low-effort video and this leads to the empty-page block, where I know there is a lot of work to be done before the video will be ready to be posted.
That being said, my current plan is to start creating instructional videos, just me using my app and explaining how to install it, how it works, how to use it, etc.
I defer to action. Even just the action of posting a video leads to lots of great by-products. You won't ever get anything of quality if you post nothing. Because the feedback loop of ppl seeing it creates even better work later.
Video making itself is hard. So why not start with low stakes? Get it going and you won't be scared to post and post and post.
Then you'll want to up your quality organically.
Good reminder here - busy spending all of this time, energy and money on "traditional" online channels and often forget that this one is a no-brainer.
And hopefully this is a simple way to start. I know so many who want to start doing video. There are tons of tools to help now.
Completely agree about Loom - I've been using that for a lot of my "cold emails" as well. Instead of sending yet another copy/pasted email, I record a short loom video, introduce myself, and give the most brief of product demos at the same time.
Curious how that’s working for you?
For us - our product is very visual. We've spent a lot of time refining our two sentence value proposition but that still doesn't beat that "a-ha" moment that happens for some folks when they see the app in action. I would say it is still a bit too early to give you an A/B answer but there are lots of stats that people want to watch content. Trying to keep the video really tight - 1 minute 30 seconds - but also show that I've done my homework, looked at their linkedIN and also make a human connection.
I should start tracking these better and do a post here on IH with some metrics.

As additional suggestion: As for content, check the news from your business space and talk about the most frequented topic. That should also provide advantage in ranking and easier exposure
