Hey Indie Hackers 👋
After months of nights and weekends building, we finally launched SeaGames — a free browser-gaming platform with no ads, no downloads, and powered by AI. On Day 0: “just games” for anyone, on any device.
(Landing page: https://www.seagames.com)
Here are the key lessons we learned from our Product Hunt launch:
1️⃣ Tagline & positioning matter more than features
We led with “No ads. No downloads. Just games.” because we felt the clutter in gaming had gotten out of hand. People responded to simplicity.
On PH we opened with that line. :contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}
2️⃣ Upvotes help, but conversations & comments drive real traction
Yes we asked our network to support us on PH, but the real boost happened when we engaged in the comments: asking about favourite browser game types, listening to feedback, replying quickly. For example one user asked: “Can I upload my own game?” — we answered yes and teased upcoming AI-game creator. :contentReference[oaicite:4]{index=4}
→ My biggest takeaway: don’t just ask for upvotes, ask for opinions.
3️⃣ Traffic doesn’t just come from Product Hunt; it comes from wherever you direct it
Our PH posting brought a spike, but a large portion of sessions came from our existing mailing list + Twitter + founder network. Make sure you warm up those channels before launch day.
4️⃣ Prepare for post-launch momentum
Launch day is just Day 0. The real story continues. Use the launch as a launchpad: follow-up content, screenshots, user stories, invite users to upload games or try the AI creator.
We already teased “AI Game Creator” in the description — that gave people something to come back for. :contentReference[oaicite:5]{index=5}
5️⃣ Community feedback is gold
On PH we asked: “What’s your favourite kind of browser game?” (see our maker comment) :contentReference[oaicite:6]{index=6}
That generated replies, gave us ideas, and created early advocates. On Indie Hackers, I’d love to ask you:
👉 If you launched a product, what’s one question you asked your early users that surprised you?
Would love to hear your stories.
If you’re curious, I wrote a full breakdown of our PH launch: screenshots, exact timing, referral sources, what we’d do differently. Link below.
Thanks for reading — happy to answer any questions around game-product launches, browser gaming, AI-powered creator tools, or marketing from zero.

Cheers,
I’ve found Party Pulse Co useful for keeping a group moving between activities. The point about asking for opinions resonates. I’ve found Party Pulse to be a browser collection of short group games, so a clear activity-specific hook is more useful than a generic launch ask.
