We're building a community-based knowledge & learning platform called "Mindcellar"

Hey Indie Hackers,

Over the past few weeks, myself and my co-founder have been working on a new community-based knowledge platform called Mindcellar. The idea of Mindcellar is to create a place where people can go to explore, organise, internalise and share new learnings and knowledge through domain-specific communities.

I feel at the moment, as an active-learner, it is hard to explore & discover new knowledge for a certain domain (e.g. JavaScript, Programming, Design, etc), and that's because none of the platforms that I use aren't really targeted towards "learning". Here are some pain-points I have with learning on platforms I use today:

As an active-learner who uses Twitter to discover new learnings, I feel that it isn't ideal as the platform is diluted with unrelated tweets (e.g. political status', personal tweets, etc), which in turn makes me distracted and I can't focus on what I am interested in.

As an active-learner who uses Medium, news sites & other blog sites to discover new learnings, I feel that it isn't ideal as these platforms don't really have any sense of real-time interaction with other people, and it can be hard to absorb meaningful knowledge from a long blog post (medium kinda mitigates this through highlighting).

As an active-learner who uses Slack/Discord to discover new learnings, I feel that it isn't ideal as the platforms are unstructured by nature, and it is hard to keep track of conversation, and what topic the chats relate to. Knowledge can also be lost very easily.

You get the point, these platforms aren't learning purpose built – it's so hard to filter what you are interested in. And I feel today, there isn't really anything out there that can help me with discovering and absorbing new learnings/knowledge in a particular domain with a community & discoverability aspect attached to it.

Where does everyone here go to learn new things and build on existing knowledge? Do you experience the same pains as I do?

In a nutshell, what we want to achieve with Mindcellar, is a place where people can go to discover/share new learnings in a domain (a community) they are interested in either through bite-sized "mind cards" (kinda like a tweet) or structured discussion posts (through channels in a community). We want to keep you focused on the things you are interested in, and be able to find and absorb new learnings with ease.
