People are taking about your product online. (And now, because of Coronavirus, they're probably only taking about your product online.)
Whether you're being mentioned in the news, on people's blogs, on forums, or elsewhere—you need to know. Because every mention is either an opportunity to find a new customer, or better understand your existing customers.
What tools do you use for media monitoring? Do you use Google Alerts, Awario, Mention, or some other tool? Do you not use any tool at all? And how do you use those tools (or not)? Are they useful?
Would love to hear how you all are keeping track of your product online.
(Plug: I'm asking because I'm building a more affordable media monitoring tool, Lensant.com, and am fascinated by how people use existing media monitoring tools.)
https://mention.com/ and google alerts, or searching it manually on each platform.
just signed up for your tool.
Wonderful. I hope you find it useful! My tool is definitely going after a different market, so I'd be curious to know how it compares to what you're used to.
what's your market?
Most media monitoring tools seem to be going after the $100-$50k/mo enterprise segment; Google Alerts, meanwhile, seems to only monitor what’s on Google News (so it’s pretty limited). I’m trying to cater more towards SMBs, academics, and individuals who have projects they’d like to monitor, but can’t afford the more enterprise tools.
What about Mention, they have a freemium and $25/mo plans?
Mention is great, but what they are offering for $25/mo is pretty ridiculous—only 3 alerts? It seems like it's an afterthought compared to their more expensive plans.
Have you had a good experience with the $25/mo plan? I may be totally mistaken!
