Simple thread: Let's assume you have a growing SaaS and I bring you a customer...how much are you willing to rev share with me in %?
Full story:
I am trying to understand whether it's worth my time referring customers to others and whether I should charge a percentage when a lead I send over becomes active with the company/service I referred them at.
I.e. I referred a couple of folks to other SaaS consultants and all I got was a thank you, but I know these referrals have brought in at least a couple of thousands $ each - at the bare minimum.
So again, what's a referral worth % wise...?
That all depends on the margin of the product you’re referring. I would always try to do a 50-50 profit split meaning if it is software it would probably be 30% but if it is a physical good it would more likely be 10%.
I would like to give 20%.
Saas-Based companies offer anything between 20% to 45% revenue share on the referral clients.
Bare minimum is 20% & maximum you can ask up to 50%
I hope this helps!

10%-30% is a good range to start
