What makes a country statistic trustworthy enough to reuse?
I’m building a free country-stats explorer at GlobalDataTracker.com, and I’m trying to decide how much source context should be visible by default.
A concrete case: the World Bank’s annual population series first puts India’s estimate above China’s in 2021. That’s a published annual estimate, not a live counter. When you compare countries, what do you need beside the number before you’d trust or reuse it—unit, indicator, source edition, reporting year, methodology?

One concrete note so far was from a MacBook trackpad user who found zoom jumpy after selecting a country. I adjusted the zoom response to be gentler for small trackpad movements, but I still need more Mac testing. I’m also working on making each statistic’s source and reporting year easier to spot.
