What makes you trust a new indie product enough to try it?
When you come across a new indie product, what helps you decide it’s worth a closer look?
Is it a clear explanation, screenshots, honest notes from the maker, user feedback, or something else? What makes you trust it enough to try?

The strongest signal for me is an unflattering number. Anybody can show a chart that goes up, so it carries almost no information, but a maker who writes zero paid users or two downloads is telling me they are not managing my perception, and everything else they say reads differently afterwards. The second is whether I can watch it work before making an account. Not a video, the actual thing doing the actual job once. Those two beat screenshots and testimonials because both are costly to fake: one needs honesty and the other needs the product to genuinely work.
