One thing I've found interesting about deleting a feature is that you're also deleting the assumptions that came with it.
Sometimes the useful part isn't the feature itself, but understanding why you built it, what you learned from it, and why you eventually removed it.
Do you keep any record of those decisions, or does that context usually disappear with the feature?
I agree—the feature is often just the visible part of a decision. I’ve started keeping a short note on what problem it was meant to solve, what we learned, and why it no longer earned its place, so the context doesn’t vanish with the code. Do you revisit those notes when making the next cut?
