What's your experience using YouTube comments to improve your brand visibility and to drive traffic to your blog?

My question is in reference to the videos published by other content creators -
e.g., news outlets, TV channels or even your competitors.

Has anyone tried that approach - commenting/answering questions in the comments section of other content creators and driving traffic to your website/blog?
