When to launch a new product?
I’m about to finish a new product and I was thinking on a launch date. Do you think pre-xmas is better than waiting to January or should I take a little more time and launch in Jan?

Christmas is generally a much quieter period, I would avoid personally, regardless of what the product is.
Probably January would be better.
What sort of product is it?
A Mac application.
I was thinking more about whether you were targeting companies or individuals. Either way, I'm not sure what would be best. Some apps have great sales around the holidays - especially if it is the kind of thing that people can spend giftcards on. iOS games do well around the holidays, if memory serves. There's also the off chance that companies trying to consume the rest of their 2019 budget might make a purchase. My gut says that if you are planning your release now, it will be rushed and you should just wait until after the holidays. I'd also be protective of your own time. It would be nice having revenue come in over the holiday, but answering support requests could be a pain.
