Where can I check my startup idea already exists?

to study competitive analysis, to know how they got initial customers, to get statistics on overall customer base, to read their blog/experience etc

Google! Or, better yet, wherever you might expect your customers to find competitors. If you put a sincere and competent effort into finding competitors and come up short, then you can bet many of your potential customers will, too.

I'd caution you against learning too much from your competitors early on. If you follow in their footsteps, there will be no reason to use what you create over what they've already created, grown, and improved.

Capterra or something similar if it is software.

You should know if there is competition or what the market is like if you have researched beforehand or are already in the market/launched.

Capterra is useful. the customer reviews are highly beneficial to analyse.

Thanks for your suggestion. my use case of finding competitor for my new idea (doing MVP)

      • I want to follow few tactics that they (competitor) used for growth, I want to apply same growth hacks to start with
      • I want to follow their blog, employees in linkedin/twitter

Sounds good. Don't get too bogged down by watching what your competition is doing. Differentiation matters.

One trick I found helpful is that if you know atleast one competitor (lets say comp1), you can google for "comp1 vs" and let google autocomplete help you find other competitors.

After Googling, I like to check Trademarkia to see what trademarks are out there in the space too. It helps to figure out how serious the competition is, and if anyone has the same name in the same industry.

good idea. I guess, many competitive analysis done this way by searching trademark and patents.
