Just saw the movie "Wedding Ringer" recently where you can rent a best man for your wedding. Similar concept ;-)
I dont have a clou who would need something like it but IF there are people looking for it your best bet might be to optimize for that exaxt SEO term + do a ton of PR activities. Your first 10-20 customers might enlighten you who they are...
I remember a guy who Photoshopped himself into celebrity pictures - he went kind of viral. Some PR stunt like this could also give you some exposure and backlinks.
What about the target group "fun and entertainment" where you can put somebody on the moon, skydiving or into an aligators mouth, onto a vulcano or crazier stuff like this.

Search instagram for people that comment a lot on those posts that are just pictures of private jets, bundles of cash, LV bags, etc.
Would you think people of high income group would be a target customer. In my mind I was thinking low or mid income group who could not afford to travel.
No I think low to mid is definitely your target and those will be the people commenting on those posts the most. High income people aren't going to be commenting on photos of stacks of cash it's people dreaming of that lifestyle and people that want to emulate it.
I'd suggest you look for a few pages like https://www.instagram.com/dollors.in/ https://www.instagram.com/dollars.co/ and similar ones on facebook and spend a few hundred dollars on ads targeting their followers to see if you get any pick up.
This is odd. I don't think someone who would like to travel would like to fake a travel that didn't happen.
Perhaps someone who's trying to trick other people?
Yes real travelers are not my target market. Unless they have set an expectation with others and are not able to meet it :)

Thanks for your feedback. I am not sure if I am following your chain of thought here about novelty product. Are you thinking of it as making playing cards showing people were at destinations? Could you elaborate a little bit if possible or share a reference. Thanks again!

A section of people who are social travelers, those travelling under social / peer pressure.
Those wanting to go to vacation but could no go because of cost, hassle with kids, pet arrangements but will be asked after long weekend where they went and they want to give a differant answer then no where
