i have two products: a $19 agency contact CSV and a $9 SEO chrome extension. neither has sold. but im betting the $9 one converts first.
the $19 lead list
the $9 chrome extension
why $9 wins the race
impulse threshold. $9 is a coffee. $19 is lunch. the psychological barrier is real — especially for a first-time buyer from an unknown brand.
the extension also has lower friction. click install, click the icon, see results. the CSV requires downloading a file, opening it, and figuring out what to do with 798 rows of data.
the real question
should i drop the lead list to $9 to match? or keep it at $19 and let the extension be the gateway product?
my instinct: keep both prices. let the $9 extension be the first sale, prove the payment system works, and build social proof. then the $19 list sells to a different audience.

what do you think converts easier — $9 tool or $19 data?
The $29 → $19 jump doubling conversions is the classic trust-zone move. But the bigger leak at that price is the file still looking like a document — buyers at $19 are already asking "is this legit?" and a cheap-looking PDF answers no before they read a word.
I wrote a short field guide on exactly that gap: offer, language, design, the desk test. nightbyte1.gumroad.com/l/kapxbr
