I'm a solo developer, and for the last 1.5 years, I've been pouring my heart and soul into building CopyLucky—a local-first digital
assistant and smart clipboard manager for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.
I wanted to share my journey, the technical hurdles of building a highly-optimized iOS keyboard extension, and get some advice from
this amazing community.
The Problem I wanted to solve
Most clipboard managers are either too simple (only text) or rely heavily on third-party cloud servers. I wanted to build something
that respects user privacy 100% (completely local storage by default, with optional encrypted iCloud backup) but also serves as a Swiss
Army knife for daily digital tasks.
What CopyLucky does:
• Intelligent Clipboard & Custom Keyboard: Saves everything you copy (text, images, audio, video) and lets you paste them directly into
any messenger using a custom iOS system keyboard.
• Built-in Excel Editor: View, format, and edit .xlsx spreadsheets on the go.
• ZIP Archive Manager: Open and manage ZIP files, play media inside them, or rename files without unzipping.
• Real-time Sticker & GIF Editor: Draw, remove backgrounds, and create animated reactions.
• 51 Languages: Localized to be accessible to as many people as possible.

Now that the app is live and fully functional, I'm facing the ultimate challenge: marketing.
• How would you market a multi-functional utility app in a saturated market?
• Should I focus my marketing on the privacy aspect (100% local database), or should I target specific niches (like social media
managers who need the custom keyboard for stickers/media, or professionals who need to edit spreadsheets on mobile)?

The technical challenge is impressive, but what stood out to me was the marketing question.
Building one product that solves several daily problems is hard. Getting someone to understand why they should install it in the first place is a completely different challenge.
I'll be interested to see which use case ends up pulling people in first.
