August 25, 2026 I built a $39 AI reviewer that tells freelancers what's actually in their client contracts

Ever signed a client contract and just hoped there wasn't a hidden "gotcha" buried on page 4?

Most freelancers do. When a lawyer costs $300–$800 to review a standard agreement, it's tempting to just sign blind and pray. Having spent years managing customer and financial care teams, I’ve seen firsthand how much real-world frustration comes from confusing terms and dense legal jargon.

That's why I built ClauseCatch. It’s a $39, plain-English first pass for your client contracts.

Upload your document and get a fast breakdown of: 🚩 Red flags (like unlimited revisions or IP grabs) ⚠️ Missing clauses (like late payment fees) 🤝 What to negotiate

Stop signing in the dark. You can check out a sample report or try our free clause translator here: ClauseCatch

(Note: ClauseCatch provides informational risk reports, not legal advice!)

The plain-English framing is the interesting part. Red flags, missing clauses, and negotiation points are much more useful to a freelancer than simply translating legal language into simpler words.

That's exactly the split we built around — and it's the reason the product exists.

A plain-English "what does this mean" translation is table stakes; the part that actually saves a freelancer is the judgment layer: is this a red flag, what's missing, and what specifically should I push back on. So we deliberately separated the two: a free explainer that only translates (clausecatch.ctonew.app/understand), and a one-time $39 review that does the risk read — overall verdict, red flags, missing clauses, negotiation points. Here's the format if you want to see the risk layer: clausecatch.ctonew.app/sample-report

Not legal advice — it's there to tell you where a real lawyer is actually worth the money.

That distinction is interesting. I’d be happy to continue the conversation beyond the thread — would you be open to sharing the best email to reach you on?

              So sorry!

I had some wiring wrong on the backend. You should be able to reach me now, though.

That’s completely fine. I’ll check it again now.

About

While experimenting with AI, I generated a tool to translate dense legal jargon into plain English. My background in customer support has shown me how much friction and frustration stems from unclear terms and agreements
