Complete Cord Cutting Guide 2026
Stream live sport without a cable contract.
A friend asked me last week whether a IPTV service can really replace a proper TV package in 2026. I had been quietly testing 12 of them for 10 months, so I had a real answer instead of a guess. Short version: yes — and for a fraction of what I was paying. Here is the long version.
No Credit Card Required
ESPN, League Networks & More
WHAT ACTUALLY MAKES A GOOD IPTV service
After 24 months and 12 providers, this is what I no longer compromise on.
It holds during peak hours, not just quiet afternoons.
The channels you genuinely watch, live and in HD — not twenty thousand dead entries.
Two or three simultaneous streams, so the household is not fighting over one.
A program guide that matches reality. Compare it against three channels; if the guide is wrong, the provider does not control the feed it is selling you.
Support that answers a real technical question within the hour.
WHAT A SPORTS-FIRST IPTV service HAS TO GET RIGHT
Game day is the only benchmark that matters, and it is unforgiving.
The national feeds, live and in HD at minimum: ESPN, the league networks, the regional sports networks for your team.
Stability during the 4:15pm window, when the whole country piles onto the same games.
Two or three simultaneous streams, because somebody always wants the other game.
A guide that reflects what is actually airing, not what aired last week.
No blackout surprises on the one game you sat down for.
MY VERDICT AFTER 7 MONTHS
What I actually watched: roughly a dozen channels out of the thousands advertised. The rest never opened once.
What made the difference: stability at peak hours, two streams without degradation, an accurate guide, and support that replied like a human.
What made no difference: the channel count, the 4K badge, and the advertised price.
What I would do again: pay monthly for two months before committing to anything longer.
After 9 months of testing, the IPTV service I actually pay for is Cutt. A free trial is available now, no card needed. Channel list, pricing and setup guides at https://cutt.ly/oyvSngJW — roughly three minutes to get running on any device.

Sunday used to mean juggling three apps and a login I could never remember, and still missing the RedZone window. I wanted one feed with every game on it. After testing 5 providers across a full season, here is what actually delivers on game day and what falls apart by the second quarter.
No Card Needed
ESPN, League Networks & More
THE WEEKEND I ACTUALLY TESTED THIS
I picked a Sunday with a full slate and ran four services side by side on four devices, same room, same connection.
By the second quarter the pattern was obvious. Two held a clean 60fps picture through the entire afternoon. One dropped to a soft, smeared image every time a game went to a commercial break and everyone flipped channels at once. The fourth simply stopped and needed a restart.
That afternoon told me more than three months of reading comparison tables had.

MY VERDICT AFTER A FULL SEASON
Games missed because of the service: none worth complaining about. Games missed because I forgot the start time: several.
What mattered: the regional and national feeds being live and stable in the late-afternoon window, and being able to run a second game in another room without either picture degrading.
What did not matter: the thousands of channels I never opened once.
If your weekends revolve around games, Cutt is the one that held up for me through a full season. Try it on a Sunday afternoon — that is the only test that counts. Full channel list and pricing at https://cutt.ly/oyvSngJW.

The cheapest plan is almost never the cheapest thing you end up paying for. I learned that the expensive way — entry tier, one stream, one server, and a second subscription bought two months later to patch the gaps. Here is the honest cost breakdown after 19 months and 8 providers.
Running in Under 3 Minutes
All Sports, One Subscription
WHAT YOU ARE ACTUALLY REPLACING
Write down what you pay now. Not what you think you pay — what leaves your account.
For most households I talk to it is a cable or satellite bill somewhere north of $80, a live-TV streaming service that has raised its price twice, a sports add-on, and one forgotten subscription.
Then write down what you genuinely watched last month. Almost nobody needs twenty thousand channels. The honest answer is usually eight to fifteen, and that gap between what you pay for and what you watch is the entire argument.
WHAT THE CHEAPEST PLAN REALLY COSTS
The lowest sticker price usually ends up the most expensive over a year, through costs that never appear in a comparison table.
Entry tier normally means one stream, one server, and support that is not really support. None of those three are on the pricing page.
The money leaks elsewhere: a second subscription to cover what the first drops, a streaming box bought because you assumed the hardware was at fault, and a lot of evenings spent troubleshooting something that could not be fixed.
The honest math: take the yearly cost, add everything you bought to make it work, and divide by the number of nights it actually held up.
WHAT IT ACTUALLY COST ME
Monthly outlay: single digits, against a cable bill that had passed $120.
What I spent beyond the subscription: an ethernet adapter. That is the entire list.
What I would warn you about: the cheapest tier. One stream and one server is not a bargain, it is a different product — and you usually end up buying a second subscription to cover what it drops.
I pay single digits a month for Cutt and cancelled a bill that had passed $60. Pay monthly while you check it, exactly as I did — pricing and the full channel list are at https://cutt.ly/oyvSngJW.

Virgin wanted an eighteen-month agreement and a fee for a box I would never own. That was the last straw. 23 months later the whole house runs on one IPTV service and a Firestick, and I have not missed a single thing I actually watched.

WHAT ACTUALLY MAKES A GOOD IPTV service
After 24 months and 14 providers, this is what I no longer compromise on.
It holds at peak times, not just on quiet afternoons.
The channels you genuinely watch, live and in HD — not twenty thousand dead entries.
Two or three simultaneous streams, so the household is not fighting over one.
A programme guide that matches reality. Check it against three channels; if the guide is wrong, the provider does not control the feed it is selling you.
Support that answers a real technical question within the hour.
THE TWENTY-MINUTE TEST THAT SETTLES IT
Do it at 3pm on a Saturday or on a European night. Not a Tuesday afternoon — everything works then and you learn nothing.
Open the channels from your own list, not the ones the app pushes on its home screen. Leave it running for thirty minutes without touching it; stalls come in clusters and a five-minute sample hides them entirely.
Then start a second stream in another room and watch the first screen, not the second. If the picture degrades within a minute, the ceiling belongs to the provider and no router tweak will fix it.
WOULD I GO BACK TO SKY?
No — and not for the reason you would expect. The money matters, but what I actually notice is having no contract, no equipment fee and no retention call in my future.
What I gave up: a physical box and a number to shout at. What I got back: roughly £120 a month and a setup the whole house can use at once.
What I would do again: pay monthly for the first two months before committing.
The service that finally replaced Sky for me is Cutt. No contract, no equipment fee, cancel whenever. Channel list, pricing and device guides are at https://cutt.ly/oyvSngJW — about three minutes to get going.

Me rei.
LaLiga, Champions y Mucho Mas

I wrote my monthly TV charges on the back of an envelope: Sky, a sports add-on, a streaming service and one I had forgotten about. It came to more than £90. That envelope is why I spent 23 months testing whether a IPTV service could replace all of it for single digits.

Ligue 1, Champions, UFC inclus
MON VERDICT APRES 7 MOIS

Around $11 a month for everything sounded like a scam to me too. My cable bill alone had crept past $120 and I assumed cheap meant broken. After 3 months of daily use I can tell you exactly where the low price is real and where it quietly costs you more.
