- The 'topic' is now a simple choice of 'left, right, other' for political leanings and you'll get matched to a random other.
- The daily open time window has been greatly expanded from 3hrs to 10hrs daily from Noon-10pm pst.
- Finally I've finished the share link logic on the Loading Screen. The invite link on the Loading Page now will take referred user right into quickmatch selection screen to join your queue. This will be a nice way to get people that are in-queue to invite someone else on Reddit/Twitter to get into the debate queue with them.
We've officially launched the new home page with the new branching and marketing. We also took some time optimizing and reduced the page load time by nearly 3x compared to the internal beta last week.
We're starting to move from hard coded text into an Google Spreadsheet can can be turned into i18n spec files to be dynamically loaded.
Decided to make the home banner be a full page animation. It looks fantastic now, however we do suffer a bit of a performance hit on mobile. We may want to resist this so that on mobile the banner animation gets replaced with a static image.
I decided to run with AWS Cognito authentication using the Hosted UI flow. It took some time to implement because AWS Amplify library can be buggy and is actively a work-in-progress currently. However, we did get it working finally.
