DiskBOX

See what’s filling your disk — and take control

September 20, 2026 I built a Windows app because I kept running out of disk space

So I built DiskBOX — a Windows disk analyzer that helps you visually understand your storage and find things worth cleaning.

The idea is simple:

  • See exactly what's consuming your disk

  • Search and analyze files quickly

  • Find duplicate files with content verification

  • Discover large Steam/Epic game installations

  • Clean unwanted files safely

  • Understand where your storage is going instead of randomly deleting folders

The goal isn't another "PC cleaner" that runs a mysterious scan and tells you to buy a subscription.

I wanted something more transparent: show me what's taking space, let me decide what to do.

I've just put it online:

I'm curious about something from other indie hackers:

When your own computer runs out of storage, what's the most frustrating part — finding what's taking space, identifying duplicates, or deciding what is actually safe to delete?

I'd love to hear how you currently solve this.

I built it to answer a familiar question: what’s filling my Windows disk? Project dependencies, build outputs, game libraries, and forgotten downloads can be hard to keep track of.
