My product is in a highly sensitive and deeply skeptical B2C niche: fusing AI with Eastern Metaphysics (BaZi, I-Ching) to deliver clinical behavioral protocols for corporate burnout and toxic relationship loops.

Our target audience (high-performing US professionals in deep emotional distress) has zero tolerance for fluffy horoscopes or marketing spam. And as a bootstrapper with $0 ad budget, I had to find a way to get high-intent users without spending a dime.

The obvious answer was Reddit. But as many of you know, subreddits like r/AnxiousAttachment, r/ShadowWork, or r/burnout are heavily moderated and aggressively hostile to self-promotion. Drop one link, and you are banned in seconds.

So, I built a zero-budget marketing engine based on a concept I call: Value-First Auditing.

Here is the exact playbook I am using to get high-intent users from Reddit without getting banned:

1. Stop posting. Start intercepting.

Instead of creating new threads saying "Check out my new AI tool," which looks like spam, I use Reddit Pro to track highly specific keyword alerts like "trauma bond," "burnout at work," or "how to set boundaries." I intercept people at their exact moment of crisis—usually when they are writing 500-word rants at 2 AM.

2. The "Tough Love" Diagnostic Reply

When I reply, I never pitch. Instead, I write a deeply analytical, highly structured response using clinical psychology and structural metaphysics to explain the systemic root cause of their specific problem.

If they are complaining about a toxic ex, I explain the psychological mirror and the emotional feedback loop they are trapped in. I write a response so valuable and detailed that the community treats it like free therapy.

Because the value is so high, the moderators approve the comment, and the community upvotes it to the very top of the thread.

3. The Mini-Audit Offer (The Ultimate Hook)

If the subreddit allows, I offer a free, manual diagnostic. I tell them: "Drop your details or DM me, and I will manually run your core behavioral indicators and reply with the top 3 high-impact boundaries you can set in 10 minutes."

This does three things:

- It gets massive engagement because people love free, customized insights.

- It proves our AI engine's core logic works manually.

- When they reply with "Wow, this helped me so much," I casually mention that we automate this exact process weekly at LuhoSoul.com if they want to join the waitlist.

By the time they click the link in my Reddit profile, they are already pre-qualified, warm leads who trust my expertise.

Why this works for Solo Devs:

As solo builders, we often get trapped in the loop of building complex features before validating the actual demand. Doing "Value-First Auditing" manually on Reddit forced me to understand the raw, unedited language of our users before writing a single line of backend code.

It is high-effort, unscalable work in the beginning, but it is the only way to build a foundation of fanatical early adopters.
