3 months ago, I was running a Next.js SaaS for AI video editing. Server costs were eating me alive — EC2, Docker, cloud NLP pipelines. For a solo founder with zero revenue, it wasn't sustainable.

So I killed it. Rewrote the core in Rust, built a native macOS app with Swift, and moved all video processing to the user's machine. No cloud video processing.

The product is NexClip AI — a Topic-Based Video Editor. The idea is simple: you import a ong video, AI extracts every topic with timestamps, you pick the topics that matter, set a target duration, and get a precisely edited clip.

I've been in video production for 25 years. The hardest part was always the same - finding the right moments in long footage. That's what this tool solves.

Launching on Product Hunt on April 14. Building solo, bootstrapped.
